  • How to take screenshot on Samsung Galaxy E5

    Samsung Galaxy E5 is a budget Dual sim Android smartphone.  The key features of this smartphone are 5 inch Super AMOLED display with 720pHD resolution(294 ppi pixel density), 1.2GHZ quad core processor, 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB internal storage, microSD card support upto 64GB, 8MP primary camera, 5MP front facing camera and 2400 mAh battery. This post we will focus on how to take screenshot on Samsung Galaxy E5.

    For performing print screen on Galaxy E5, there are 2 different methods available. The first method is default android method and the other one is through palm swipe method. The palm swipe method of taking screenshot at times didn’t work as expected. So I am providing both screen capturing methods.

    Default Android Method or Power+Volume Down Key method

    For taking the screenshot using this method follow the steps given below.

    • Go to the screen on which you want to take the screenshot.
    • Now press and hold volume down and power button simultaneosly.
    • Screen will flicker and shutter sound will be heard. This confirms the screenshot on Galaxy E5 is taken.
    • The taken screenshot will be saved in Gallery->Screenshot folder.

    Palm Swipe method of taking screenshot on Galaxy E5

    For using this method of screen capture on Galaxy E5, follow the steps given below.

    Enable Swipe Gesture:

    You need to enable swipe gesture before using the palm swipe method. For that go to Settings->”Motions and Gestures”. Screen down, you will find  “Hand Motion”, then enable the box “Palm Swipe to Capture”.

    • Now whenever, you want to take screenshot, just go to the screen on which you want to take the screenshot.
    • Now for taking screenshot, just swipe your hand from left to right or vice versa to take the screenshot.
    • The taken screenshot will be saved in Gallery->Screenshot folder.
     As mentioned before, the swipe gesture way of taking screenshot on Galaxy E5 sometimes does not works. In Galaxy E7 it works without any issue. It requires bit of practice.

    Coolpad Note 3 is a affordable phablet with fingerprint scanner. At the time of writing this article, probably this is the only Android smartphone with fingerprint scanner within the price of 9k. In this article, we will learn how to take screenshot on Coolpad Note 3.

    • Go to Settings->Smart Control-> Action and Screen.
    • In the list of options, enable Three Screenshots by selecting it.
    • Now whenever, you want to take screenshot on Coolpad Note 3, swipe up or down with three fingers at your desired screen on which you want to capture will take the screenshot.
    • The taken screenshot using method will be saved in Gallery->Screenshot folder.

    Coolpad Note 3 though is a budget Android smartphone, it offers a lot of features to the user. With many customisation, useful tricks you can make many tasks with simple time saving methods.

  • Huawei Honor 7 Pros and Cons Review

    Huawei Honor 7 is a stylish feature rich Android smartphone with affordable price tag.  It has fingerprint scanner, 5.2 inch IPS full HD display, metal finish design, 20MP primary camera, 8MP primary camera and dedicated smartkey. Huawei Honor 7 price in India starts at Rs.22,999.

    Huawei Honor 7 sports 5.2 inch full-HD IPS-LCD screen with 424 ppi pixel density. The display panel used in this device of good quality. It is bright and offers great viewing angles and good colour reproduction. The screen to body ratio is 72.4% and has on-screen soft keys and  narrow borders. Overall, it feels good to hold it in hand. Unlike a big 5.5 inch phablets, this feels more convenient for me.

    Honor 7 Review

    Honor 7 is powered by octa-core Hisilicon Kirin 935 SoC(four cores operating at 2.2GHz and the secondary four cores at 1.5GHz) with 3GB of RAM and ARM Mali-T624. The device runs on Android 5.0.2 with Huawei’s Emotion UI 3.1 on top. The UI offers lot of customisation  for practically every function including the navigation bar, smart key, motion control, and one-handed operation. The day to day performance is excellant. Even gaming performance is good. However, highend graphic intensive games at times shown bit of lag. Overall performancewise, it is good.

    Honor 7 sports 20-megapixel primary camera with dual-tone flash and an 8-megapixel front camera with single-tone flash. Both camera supports full HD video recording. It takes excellant outdoor images. The indoor performance also decent. But as it doesnot have optical image stabilisation, when taking images in low light hand should be steady. Otherwise images tends to washed out.

    Huawei Honor 7 available in India is single sim variant. The connectivity features of the device includes 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.1, IR blaster, WiFi, WiFi tethering, USB tethering and USB OTG. The internal storage capacity of the device is 16GB and supports microSD card upto 128GB. Honor 7 houses 3100 mAh battery which with heavy usage lasted for a complete day in my testing.

    So lets summarize the Huawei Honor 7 review with its merits and demerits.

    Pros of Honor 7

    • Responsive and fast Fingerprint scanner: Huawei also provides gesture customisation for fingerprint scanner such as accessing notifications, multitask page etc by swiping.
    • Good cellular call quality and network reception: The call quality is loud and clear.
    • Very good design and Build quality: The metal finish design gives premium feel to the device.
    •  Good camera performance: Both primary and secondary camera performance were satisfactory.
    • Good Display: 1080p 5.2 inch display is  good.
    • Good overall performance: Overall the device performance is very good.

    Cons of Honor 7

    • No Dual sim variant in India: Honor 7 which is available in India supports only single sim(nano sim).
    • No optical image stabilisation.
    • Outdated Android version: The device runs on Android 5.0.2. That is 2 generation old version.
    • No 4K video recording capability.
    • Non user replaceable battery.

In terms of no of features it is very close to Xiaomi PC Suite. So we will learn more about features and download procedure of Huawei PC suite.

    For using Asus Zenfone 2 as modem, based on the requirement, there are three different methods are available. WiFi hotspot method, USB tethering and Bluetooth Tethering. Do note that, using any of this method will consume your mobile data. So make sure you have good mobile data plan enabled from your mobile network provider. The data charges applies as per your network provider. Let’s start one by one methods. For using all this method, first enable mobile data and then follow the steps.

    Asus Zenfone 2 As WiFi Hotspot to Connect to Internet from PC, Laptop, iPad, tablet with WiFi reception capability

    This is most popular and very useful method of sharing mobile data with other WiFi enabled devices. To use Asus Zenfone 2 as WiFi Hotspot, follow the steps given below.

    • Go to “Settings”-> “More”-> ” Tethering and Wifi hotspot “-> ” Set up Wi-Fi hotspot “.
    • Enable WiFi hotspot by tap on the checkbox. Your Zenfone 2 will start sharting the mobile data via WiFi.
    • To customise the WiFi hotspot settings, go to ” Settings ” -> ” More ” -> ” Tethering and Wifi hotspot ” -> ” Set up Wi-Fi hotspot “.
    • In this page you can name your WiFi network SSID, password and Security type. Once done, tap on to “Save”.
    • Now you can access your Zenfone 2 WiFi hotspot from any WiFi enabled devices by entering the SSID and password you have chosen.

    How to Use Asus Zenfone 2 as modem through USB Tethering

    Asus Zenfone 2 USB Tethering is the method used to share mobile to data to PC through USB.

    • First connect your Zenfone 2 to PC via USB cable. You might need Asus Zenfone PC suite for install drivers.
    • then Go to “Settings”-> “More”-> ” Tethering and Wifi hotspot “.
    • Enable “USB tethering”.
    • Your Zenfone 2 will start sharing the mobile data to your PC.

    How to Asus Zenfone 2 as modem through Bluetooth Tethering

    Asus Zenfone 2 Bluetooth Tethering is the method used to share mobile internet to PC through Bluetooth. For using this method, you need to configure your PC as well.

    • Enable Bluetooth on your Zenfone 2.
    • Now go to “Settings”-> “More”-> ” Tethering and Wifi hotspot “.
    • Enable “Bluetooth Tethering”.
    • Make your Zenfone visible visible to all nearby Bluetooth devices.

    Now you need to pair it with your laptop to connect to internet using Zenfone 2 Mobile data. This is a one time activity on your laptop.

    • On your laptop, go to Control Panel-> Devices and Printers.
    • Click on Add a device. It will show all available devices.
    • Select Zenfone and click “Next”.
    • Make sure the pairing codes are consistent in ZenFone and Laptop then click on Pair.
    • You will get a confirmation that, Zenfone is successfully added to your laptop.
    • Now once again go to Control Panel-> Devices and Printers.
    • Right click the ZenFone icon.
    • Select “Connect using”.
    • Select “Access point”.
    • Now Bluetooth Tethering is enabled.
