  • Asus Zenbook Flip UX360CA Review-Pros and Cons

Asus Zenbook Flip UX360CA is a 2 in 1 convertible which can be used as a normal laptop as well as tablet. In this post lets have a quick look into Asus Zenbook Flip UX360CA review based on pros and cons.

    Asus Zenbook Flip UX360CA Review

It comes in different variants. My review unit had 13.3 inch display screen with full HD resolution, Core m3 processor, 4GB RAM, 512GB of SSD and Windows 10 pre installed. Price of this variant is RS.59,990.

13.3 inch IPS full HD touch screen on Zenbook Flip UX360 offers rich colors and strong contrast. The viewing angles are good and every thing looks sharp. Multi touch screen is responsive.  Sadly screen is reflective and brightness is not enough to overcome glossy screen in outdoor conditions.

The keyboard on Zenbook Flip UX360 is pleasure use. Each key has decent movement and function keys are easy to press.  Track pad on this device is fairly large and has smooth finish. All the multi touch gestures of Windows 10 works without any flaw. Overall keyboard and track pad performance is excellent.

Asus Zenbook UX360CA is powered by Intel Core m3-6Y30CPU with 4GB of RAM. General performance was excellent. It managed to handle Browsing, watching full HD videos, simple video and photo editing with ease. Even with prolonged usage there was no heating issues. Sound output is good in low and mid volumes. Our review unit was able to give around 8 hours of battery backup.

5000 mAh battery coupled with Android Nougat battery optimization, Zenfone 3s Max battery life is excellent. In our testing period we got more than 2 days on regular usage. It can be used as power bank to charge other smartphone as well. Sadly it doesn’t comes with fast charging option.

Asus Zenfone 3s Max sports 5.2 inch IPS display with 1280×720 pixel resolution. The display panel quality is good. It offers good viewing angles and rich colors.  With thin bezels, overall display panel looks good. However, it would have been great if it had full HD display panel.

  • Vivo V5 Plus Cons- Reasons not to buy

Vivo V5 Plus is considered to be one of the best Selfie centric smartphone in the sub 30k budget. Priced at Rs.27,990, it is directly competing with the likes of OnePlus 3, Asus Zenfone 3 etc. In this post, let’s have a quick look into Vivo V5 Plus Cons which may not be deal breaker but good to know.

Vivo V5 Plus Cons- Reasons not to buy

    Vivo V5 Plus Cons

No Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box

It is been more than 4 months since the launch of latest Android version 7.0. Budget smartphone such as Zenfone 3s Max comes with Android 7.0 out of the box. OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T already started receiving the Android Nougat update. Vivo in the past hardly updated their phones. Most of the phones still running the Android version which it sold with.

No NFC, IR Blaster and USB Type-C

Though these are not must have features, many phones which are priced lesser than this phone and similar priced phones have these features.

    Mediocre SoC for the price

Snapdragon 625 is a efficient SoC. But for this price, there are phones with Snapdragon 820 which is much more powerful than this. Redmi Note 4 which is priced almost half of this phone is powered by this same SoC. OnePlus 3 offers Snapdragon 820 with 6GB of RAM which is also priced almost similar. When playing high end games such as Asphalt 8 in Vivo V5 Plus, we observed minor lags in the highest setting.

    No expandable storage

Vivo V5 Plus comes with 64GB of internal storage which is enough for most of the customer. But lack of option to add a microSD is a bit disappointment. It would have been great atleast it had hybrid sim card slot.

Fast charger is not as fast as DASH charger in OnePlus 3

Vivo V5 Plus comes with Proprietary fast charging support. It does charges battery faster. However, when compared to Dash charger on Oneplus, it is bit slow.

These are some of the Vivo V5 Plus Cons according to us.
