    No NFC and Samsung PAY

Samsung has added Ambient light sensor to Galaxy M31 which was missing on Galaxy M30s. However, NFC is still missing. This means that you cannot use Samsung Pay.

Samsung Knox and Secure Folder is missing

Samsung Knox is a security layer to protect your data. This is a built-in feature on the latest Galaxy S series and Galaxy A series smartphones. Galaxy M31 does not support Knox. Due to this, you will miss the extra security layer on your data as well as Secure Folder option.

    Missing OneUI features

Galaxy M31 and Galaxy A51 both runs on OneUI 2.0 based on Android 10. However, there are few options missing on Galaxy M31. Some of them are, Kids home, edge panel, Edge lighting, preinstalled link to Windows option, press and hold to wake Bixby etc. Samsung may or may not add these features in the coming software updates.

    Lacks in-display fingerprint reader

The physical in-display fingerprint reader is fast and accurate. But in-display fingerprint reader is the latest trend. Many smartphones in this budget segment come with an in-display fingerprint reader.

No Earphone and a case in the box

If you are expecting a wired earphone and a silicon case in the retail box like Galaxy A51, you will be disappointed.

These are some of the Galaxy M31 cons in terms of missing features. These are minor compromises when you look at the whole package you get for the price.
