    Realme X is launched in India. Key highlight of the device are pop-up selfie camera module, full-HD+ OLED 19.5:9 display panel, in-display fingerprint sensor, and an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC. Here is the list of Realme X features and FAQ.

    Realme introduced its 360-degree Real Service doorstep repairing option. It is a pilot programme initially available in 6 six cities which includes Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Pune. This service said to offer doorstep repairs within “flat 30 minutes.”

    Large full-HD+ OLED display

    Realme X sports 6.53-inch full-HD+ (1080×2340 pixels) AMOLED display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The screen has Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Bezel around the screen is thin except slightly thick chin at the bottom. There is no hole or notch.

    In-display fingerprint scanner

    The device comes with in-display optical fingerprint sensor from Goodix. You will get five different animations to choose from.

    Pop up Front camera and Rear dual camera setup

    Realme X features 16 megapixel Sony IMX 471 selfie sensor with f/2.0 lens in the popup module. It is claimed to have a quick elevating rate of 0.74 seconds.

    In the rear, for photos and videos it has dual rear camera setup. This includes 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 primary sensor with an f/1.7 lens and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor along with an f/2.4 lens. The 48MP primary sensor has an aperture of f/1.7 and uses 4-in-1 pixel binning which treats four pixels as one to capture more light. Photos are saved in 12-megapixel.

    Realme X is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC. User can choose between 4GB or 8GB RAM variants. For storage, it has 128GB. This uses LPDDR4X type of RAM and UFS 2.1 storage.

    Connectivity and Battery

    The connectivity features of Realme X are dual 4G with VoLTE, dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5, support for GPS, GLONASS, and Beidou navigation systems. FM Radio is not available. It has 3765 mAh battery. There is a support for VOOC 3.0 fast charging.

    First sale of Realme X will start from 24th July 2019 and will be available exclusively via flipkart. The phone will also “soon” be offered via physical retailers. However, Realme will conduct “Hate-to-Wait” sale at 8pm on July 18.

    Tecno Phantom 9 is available in India is having 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. From my memory, I can’t recollect any smartphone which has 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage within the price range of 15k. It also has support for dedicated microSD card upto 256GB.

    Phantom 9 comes with Photosensitive in-display fingerprint reader. This is another first for the price segment.

  • How to clear cache on Samsung Galaxy S8

    • Once again use Volume to key to select “Yes” and power button to confirm.

    Analyse for background running apps

    There are chances of many apps running in the background. Simple way to check and fix such issues is using the device maintenance feature.

    • Go to Settings>> Device Maintenance.
    • Tap on Battery.
    • You will see all running apps and how much percentage each app is consuming.
    • You can tap “Save Power” to close all the such apps to save battery.

    Uninstall or disable unused apps

    Some apps may run in the background which you don’t use. You can uninstall or disable such apps to save battery life. To uninstall unused apps,

    • On the home screen, long press on the app.
    • Tap on Uninstall icon then Ok.
    • You can uninstall apps by going to Setting>>Apps.

    To disable unused apps

    Some apps cannot be uninstalled. However you can disable such apps. For that, follow the same steps mentioned before. But select Disable instead of uninstall.

    This will save your internet usage as well. Because it will stop updating unused apps.

    Turn off Always On Display (AOD) or set schedule

    Galaxy A50 supports Always on display. It shows certain information such as date and time without activating the display. Enabling always on display will consume some power from your battery. You can choose to turn off AOD or set a time schedule for AOD to turn on/off.

    • Go to Settings>>Lock screen and security > Lock screen and Always On Display.
    • Turn off AOD by tapping on the AOD slider (circle will move to the left)
