  • Nexus Devices start Receiving Android Lollipop from Today

    The Nexus line smartphones will be receiving the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop starting today.  This updated can be obtained through OTA update or through factory image which is available for download.

    The devices which will start receiving the Lollipop update are  WiFi only versions of Nexus 7 2012 tablet and Nexus 7 2013 tablet, Nexus 10 and Nexus.  The Nexus 4 users need to wait for few more days as it is yet receive Lollipop factory image.

    The users of Nexus 7 table of 2012 and 2013 with Cellular version will get Lollipop update little bit late. Apart from this, Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 will also receive some minor bug fix updates today.

    Today, Motorola Moto X 2014 Pure Edition and Moto G 2014 also will get Android 5.0 Lollipop update. LG too not left behind. It announced that, LG G3 has also begun receiving the  heavily customized Lollipop build.

    It is surprising to see that, no word on the Android 5.0 Lollipop update to the Android One smartphones such as Micromax Canvas A1, Karboon Sparkle V and Spice Dream Uno.

    Last week we have seen two of big events with unveiling of great tablets and smartphones. There were lot of rumours and anticipation on launch of Nexus 6 smartphone, Nexus 9 tablet and Apple iPads. Both Google and Apple didn’t disappointed the gadget enthusiasts. Apple launched Apple iPad Air 2, iPad mini 3, upgradation for iMac series and launch of iOS 8.1 with lot of new features and bug fixes. Similarly, just one day ago to apple event, Google unveiled Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 with latest Android OS 5.0 Lollipop.  According to Google Android 5.0 is one of the major update in the Android history. In post we will discuss the features of of newly launched Nexus 9 tablet.

    Google Nexus 9 tablet is manufactured by HTC. It marks many new things. One of them is the 8.9 inch display screen Nexus Tablet.  The screen has 1536×2048 pixel resolution with 281 ppi pixel density. The display screen has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection which helps in reducing the scratches on the screen.

    HTC Nexus 9 is powered by Dual core 2.3GHz Denver CPU with Nvidia Tegra K1 chipset and Kepler DX1 GPU. The new tablet has 2GB of RAM and 16GB or 32GB of internal storage. Like previous Nexus devices, this too doesn’t comes with support for microSD card.

    Google Nexus 9 sports 8MP autofocus primary camera with LED flash. It record 1080p videos at 30fps. There is also a 1.6MP front facing camera which can record videos at 720p resolution. Connectivity features includes WiFi, Bluetooth, microUSB, NFC and GPS. Cellular connectivity is a optional.

    Google HTC Nexus 9 comes with Indigo Black, Lunar White and Sand Colours. It houses Li-po 6700 mAh battery which according to Google will last for 10 hours of video playing or surfing. New Nexus 9 runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box which is optimized or better battery utilization.

    Just a day after global unveiling, Nexus 9 is listed in Google Play store India website.  The price of Nexus 9 is given below.

    • Nexus 9 16GB WiFi only variant Price: Rs.28,900.
    • Nexus 9 32GB WiFi  and Cellular variant Price: Rs. 44,900.
